MEANING OF COURAGE

Courage means the act of exercising boldness when carrying out positive activities, irrespective of pressure to do otherwise. For example, a boy may be faced with the options of either to steal the money of his wicked uncle to pay his school fees or to go to work and labour at a block making firm. He needs courage to choose the latter because he would have had enough temptation to steal his uncle's money, which would have been the easier and quicker way of getting money. However, because courage is the ability to resist negative temptation, the boy will not steal.

Courage is the boldness to resist opposition on negative things without fear. It is the ability to face difficulties or challenges.

TYPES OF COURAGE

PHYSICAL COURAGE : physical courage means the willingness to exercise physical energy to get things done. To be physically courageous, a person needs to be physically sound and complete. For instance, an amateur boxer needs physical courage to challenge a renowned title holder in boxing.
MORAL COURAGE : moral courage is the willingness to exhibit the will to do what is right and shun what is wrong, irrespective of the pressure or temptation to do what is wrong. To be morally courageous, and individual must have self discipline and be confident to with stand whatever the temptation that is encountered. A good boy will find a lump sum of money at the school gate and take him to the school authority must have been tempted greatly to keep the money for himself. It's takes the moral courage in him to do otherwise.
SPIRITUAL COURAGE : this means the willingness to apply spiritual faith and believe at getting things done, irrespective of strong temptation in one's way. It take a spiritual courageous undergraduate lady courage to speak to her religious faith and go her own way when our friends try to woo her into cultism on prostitution.
SOCIAL COURAGE : this is the boldness to confront the leaders of the society whenever they go wrong, as well as calling the attention to the proper things they should do. It is social courage that makes various human rights activities to challenge the government when things go wrong even at the expense of their safety. Social courage can also means willingness to resist what other people in society do. For example, if a society is corrupt, it takes courage for someone or group not too involved in the corrupt practices.
ETHICAL COURAGE : this has to do with being bold enough to uphold the roles of a profession in face of temptation. For example, daily give you a display ethical courage when you resist on publishing a story even though some powerful elements insisted should bury it. It takes ethical college for a doctor not to procure abortion. It's take surgical college for a police not to receive a prime. Medical college is the boldness to resist on doing the right thing, which a professional stipulate even though several others might be doing the wrong thing.

ATTRIBUTES OF A COURAGEOUS PERSON

ENDURANCE : Nigerians miss the ability to withstand difficult or painful situation for sometimes. A courageous person always be as such situation and goes ahead carrying out anything just assignments place before him.
DILIGENCE : a courageous person is usually diligent. He or she does everything carefully and effectively. She does not cut corners. He or she is guided by the saying what is worth doing at all is worth doing well
DETERMINATION : a courageous person is positive keen at getting things john or attending set goals. Such as a strong will to make things happen and will not look back until he or she achieves success.
COMMITMENT : a courageous person usually exhibit high level of commitment. They are loyal to their belief and fellow human being. They do not burn their views.

ADVANTAGES OF COURAGE

STRENGTH : courageous people always have inbuilt strengths that makes them to attain set goals. With such industries, a person cannot be courageous. Such strength enables a person to be a go getter.
CONFIDENCE : people always have confidence in a courageous person because they know that such a person will achieve results. They believe that the person will surely deliver and will not disappoint them due to his or her college. A courageous person will enjoy people's confidence and support.
GREAT ACHIEVEMENT : courage enhance achievement for a person that has it. A courageous person does not easily relent. The courage that one as readily sport one to process until one positively achieve results.
FAME : courageous people always enjoy grateful. They are very popular among colleague and contemporaries. People always respect their views and are ready to worship them because they know that such courageous people or person was able to achieve through college, and did not get such on a platter of gold.
WILLINGNESS TO FORGE ON : correct gives people the spirit or the power and will to forge ahead in order to achieve more. With courage, a person would look ahead and say, i must proceed, i must get to the next level. It is a moral booster.
